After breakfast in the hotel we packed and took our bags down then hit the beach for a while, its a Monday oh yeah and the year is 2552 so I'm almost 600 years old, I feel ok but look a bit rough for my age I think!!
We all pile into a tuk tuk to the station to discover the train is an hour late but the time flys by and soon we are amongst the locals on a busy train, strange food is sold by runners that go up and down the carriage and we share some amazing rice cooked in bamboo and get chatting to a Thai massage women I resist the urge to strip off and lay down in the walkway but I am sure she would have been fine with that.
People talk to us along the way as one person leaves another sits next to us and chats about everyday things, we are learning so much about their lives and culture like this that I think we would have missed if we had taken  the more conventional routes.

After around 6 hours we arrive in Chumphon and are greeted by a perfect English speaking Thai tourist guide, once we have extracted the info we need we briskly make our exit and get a tuk tuk to the hotel we think sounded best. For 10 a night we got a room with two double beds air con and (yes John) a toilet - (photo to follow)
We venture out and eat with the locals at the night market, every town seems to have these and we tuk into Pad Thai (chicken noodle) and chicken (i think) shoulder it takes like KFC which is funny as across the road there is a KFC.
We take a picture of another weird toilet - for now this is one of our tasks.

Its been a busy but very good day and we still have the whole of tomorrow here before we make our way to Phuket on Wednesday where we stay put for a month (we think!!)

Hello...
Hi Tony,
Miranda here - back from Egypt and happy not to be bartering for everything anymore, sounds like you are enjoying it though! Thailand sounds amazing and is on my list of places to visit once I a) win the lottery and b) get well again - I will be doing at least one of those lol! Glad the hair has gone - hope it all goes well for you with the teacher training and you dont make any mistakes with bananas!
