Where I stayed
Continental Plane
We landed in Geneva at around 8 A.M. Europe time...really, really early my time. Upon descending, I, blessed with a window seat, peered upon the most fantastic sight. The Swiss Alps were snow white towers peeking at me above the clouds. More than peeking, they were piercing the atmosphere with their rigid peaks. At first, I thought they were the clouds; however, I was a little delirious from only two hours of sleep on the international flight from New York. When I came to my senses, I realized that I was in the presence of one of the most elaborate sculptures the hand of God has ever molded. All I could do was breathe the sight in through my eyes. I should have taken a picture, but, alas, I did not.
Our connection in Switzerland was a much smoother and more pleasant experience than the Newark lack of a connection two days earlier. We passed through customs there, so we didn't have to worry over that hassle in Paris. Then, we hazily awaited our plane to France. The ascent afforded even more wondrous views of the majestic Alps. I now think I would like to one day set foot on Swiss soil.
