Ok, so, starting in sydney on the 7th of July, Brian and i got a wicked camper (herbie - of herbie the love bug variety). Right from the get go it was to be an adventure as the van was a standard, and well, neither brian nor i are, wait, were very good at driving stick. i got a crash course while just leaving sydney and faired fairly well. Surprisingly everything went smooth other than 1 stall after leaving the gas station in sydney and a couple of map reading mistakes. other than that we were on our way. the only hiccup we had was brian driving in the exit of the grocery store just before we turned in for the night, just outside narrandera at a truck stop. camped out there for the night before heading off in the morning still heading west. Drove through Mildura again, which was strange going back to, but nice, not having to work there. that second day we drove into adelaide, accidentally, then made it to port wakefield before calling it a night and setting up camp there.
