It pained us to leave the tranquility of Jen's house and turn our back on susan (the sloth) but we had to go. Feeling like we should at least see some other place in Costa Rica, we pushed on to Manuel Antonio National Park just 100ks up the coast (and a five hour bus journey of course).
As with nearly everywhere in the Rica tourists are rife and the standard walks through the parks were smothered with people of the dumb and fat variety pointing wildy into trees going "look, it's a bird". So we ventured further afield on a surprisingly dense jungle trail.
If any of you have been to Australia do you remember the delight of seeing your first kangaroo? It's quite a sight. Then the second is almost as good. The third is interesting and the fourth...yawn. After a few weeks they're just bloody big rats that cause serious damage to cars. Well, it was the same with monkeys in the park.
"Oooh look a cute little monkey, oh and there's another one. Hey there's a whole herd/troop/front/jeep (I dunno) of monkeys." By the end of it I was almost phoning scientific research labs to be away with them, but alas no phone. Then the sloths started to appear from nowhere doing cartwheels and then would you believe it, a bloody Dodo, would you ecking believe it?
We left the park bored with anything with four legs and ran back to our hostel to watch telly.

PS (poop situation) Heather, simian as ever. Woody, animated
