Kerala famed for being the hotspot for crusing around the Indian backwaters and taking in the slower pace of life of the local farmers and their villages. Its Lonely Planets top 10 things to do before you die and they where right.

The pics and vids speak for themselves but it is the most relaxing 3 days and 2 nights you can have being driven around the backwaters watching indian farm life continue oblivious to the rest of the world and any recession thats going on. We had a driver and chef neither of which spoke any english but made us feel welcome and helped us fish off the side of the boat and try to communicate through a lot of sign language! I was still the royal nut taster for Alex incase the chef tried to sneak any nuts into our food and when everything is made with cocnuts its a pretty tricky job.

Most memorable moment of the few days was driving through a flock of about 1000 ducks on the river while the farmers where loading boats with rice - the sound was deafening!
