For all my former work colleagues, Happy October 15th!

We are spending this momentous day at the base of South AmericaŽs most active volcano.  Pucon is an outdoor enthusiasts paradise.  Trekking, skiing, mountain biking and horseback riding are just a few of the options available to occupy your time.  The town itself is reminiscent of the small ski resorts in Colorado.

Our experience in Pucon is turning out to be a little bit different than we'd planned.  For the first time in eleven months, the weather is preventing us from our activities.  Cold rain, dense clouds and strong, high winds have driven us indoors.  The views of the mountains are obscured.  Lava could be flowing toward us from the volcano, and we wouldnŽt know it.  I suppose if I were hard core, IŽd be out mountain biking anyway...I guess IŽm just not hard core.   There are no pictures to post, but just imagine "gray and wet," and you'll get the idea.
