We caught the train down to Seattle this time, a much nicer way to travel! Michelle decided however once we got off the train that we could walk to our hotel. Many dodgy streets, and lots of hills and one hour later she finally agreed that perhaps we shoudl get a cab. Looking at the map later (we both thought the other had checked it first) we sure toured Seattle!

Caught a perfect (and rare) sunny day to head to the zoo on Saturday. Seattle Zoo has an Australian section, wallaroos, a kookaburra all on its lonesome, emus and some birds. The sun was shining and I was surrounded by animals from home had a short bout of homesickness. This was very quickly stopped when we walked into a nearby rainforest section which reminded me just how much I hate humidity. The zoo was nice, for a zoo and since I wasnt being kept in the enclosures but boy was it big and we were so tired at the end of the day.. and quite a few of the appealing exhibits, Red Panda and Penguins for example, were shut. Probably too warm a day for them, but definately not for me.

We tagged along with Emily to a BBQ Saturday afternoon and continued to enjoy the sunshine while it lasted. BBQ in sunshine meant some very hungover girls wandering Seattle streets and fighting the crowds in Pike Place markets Sunday afternoon before heading back on the bus to Vancouver.
