New Years and another birthday have passed by and I find myself still here in Vancouver, but looking forward to at least a visit home this year. You never know Mum, I might even come back for good!
Every year that Christmas passes since I left home I listen to all those songs, Dreaming of a White Christmas, Let it snow, let it snow.. and I cross my fingers. Five Christmas days passed with no snow, it always seemed to snow just before, or just after Christmas but never on the day. I managed a few White Birthdays but Christmas proved elusive.. until this year! At last at Christmas number #6 I got snow. Michelle and I looked outside and discussed whether the slush coming down was really snow and then it got heavier and snow settled on the ground. We had our faces pressed up against the window (safe and warm inside) half the day.. It was all it should be with warm dinner, wine and good friends. I can almost say I can go home now!
