Most of the bus stations that we ended up at during the trip didnt have signs and this one was no exception. So we did our usual "hmm we have been travelling as long as it should be.. this spot looks good - we dont have reservations, heck lets get off" and nicely this time we were in the right spot!
We somehow lucked into a gorgeous hotel, all wooden and tiled right near the water and town. Dropped off our bags and headed straight to find the beach! It was a very hot day and we had misunderstood (OK so I had) the instructions to the beach and ended up walkign around for about an hour
Manzanillo has a cute main street with endless cheap shops so we got up the next morning and decided to grab some treats for ourselves. You know cause we deserved it after all that hard work holidaying! Amongst many bargains i think my favourite was the $2 beer. $2 for 3 bottles that is!
We headed back to the beach again and found a young teenage girl trying to talk to us. Despite our extremely limited Spanish and her just as limited English this very persistant girl eventually got across to us that she wanted us to come to a party on the beach that night. Feeling very young and funky we said we might turn up.. but we had better plans, we had seen a karaoke sign that morning and were ready for it! When we got there, all eager, we both half fell asleep at the table before it even started. Those teens wouldnt have thought we were so cool if they knew that!
