For those of you that were waiting with baited breath to see which continent I will be living on for the next little while, call your bookie cause the results are in.

Canada= 2, rest of World = 0

Why 2? Cause those crazy Canadians have offered to keep me for two more years. I can just feel the love wafting from the visa office, must be something to do with all those times in the past few months (the application process began the end of March) I walked past Service Canada and waved a friendly hello and offered up a "you know you want to keep me" chant. Something worked anyway cause here I am.

I'm not really sure if I will be taking up those two whole years, seems a very long time to commit to one country but the offer is there and its nice to know that I can stay.  My old visa expired a few weeks ago and during that period of time they could have called me at any point and said "Young lady, get the out of our country now" and with no time to pack my bags I would have headed home.  I think this mostly didn't happen as they couldn't quite bring themselves to call me either "lady" or "young".

I am hoping to come home to Australia for Christmas this year but depends on many things, most importantly being where my tax refund cheque is.

Now that I'm allowed to stay in Canada I can actually go ahead with some holidays.  First off the rank is a trip in a month to Calgary, home of the Calgary Stampede. Yes me, cowboys and rodeos, stranger things have happened, most notably on the same trip I will be headed to the Merritt Music Festival.  A somewhat notorious music festival around these here parts, with a heavy focus on country and western music. Hmm. My favourite part of this trip though is a few days in Banff, a very pretty area that I have been angling to go to for quite some time.  This is all a road trip, and I remain unlicensed in Canada, lucky for my chauffeurs. Its really all a dastardly ploy on my part to ensure I can nap on the backseat. This trip is unfortunately work contract pending, but a girl cant have everything planned out now can she?

Young Tracey has however managed to escape the clutches of the Canadians, and of her own free will (but not my will!) she is currently on her way back to Sydney.

So ship over the minties and strawberries and creams, cause it appears I am staying in Vancouver, at least until next week : )
