After a long hung-over flight with much buzzing for more water arriving in England was kind of scary. I had been listening to my Japanese friends telling me for the last six months that England wasn't safe and then we arrived to a hostel that smelt so much, when I used the showers I almost vomited. Disgusting. Tracey and I decided to take advantage of our unemployment and escape the smelly hostel and booked ourselves on a bus to Europe leaving two days later.
We wandered around London a little, jetlag and knowing we had a lot of time on our hands prompted us to take things very slowly.
The night we left reinforced our decision to get out of the awful hostel, thankfully I was wearing earplugs, but Tracey was not. At around 2am she was woken up by one of our room sharers who had bought a girl back with him (the hostel was above a pub). And they proceeded to get up to things that shouldn't be shared with unwilling victims. I don't believe Tracey could have got out of that hostel any faster, as soon as alarm went off in the morning she was out the door!
We went to catch a night bus to get our bus across to the continent; we soon learnt that London buses do not run to timetable.
Check:
One missed bus
