With temperatures soaring to 27 degrees already (summer has just begun), we are in for a hot summer, giving us a whole new topic to discuss in Japanese "its hot". This will no doubt show our Japanese friends how well rounded our Japanese really is, after all they sure know we can say "its cold"!

We MOVED.....across the hall. In a very exciting weekend, we moved from apartment 203 to 206 (this took a long time ,its harder than you think to move across the hall..). The new apartment is fab, and much quieter, except our bedroom windows face over a side street and we still get crazed sound trucks driving past from early in the morning.
Osaka got its first typhoon warning for Saturday 31 May. School - meaning my work and most shops issued closed notices for Sat. (Yes, Japanese kids go to school on Saturday.) This is the first typhoon for both of us so we were running around excited all Friday, even stocking up on food items, just in case - we didnt want to get caught short with no snickers bars!! Much to our disappointment, the typhoon weakened well before Osaka and Sat ended up being hot and sunny. But don't worry, apparently there will be many more typhoons this summer, and next time we will be even more ready.
