Em and I were up first, and she was excited to try her derring-do without an audience. Although we swam twice in The Sarapiqui River, there were always local folks there. At 5:30am, we had the watering hole, rope swing and bridge to ourselves. No zip lining for us, but jumping off the bridge into the river was definitely thrill-seeking. I asked Emily if it hurt, and she didn't hesitate to say yes. Her next statement was the quote of the day " I think part of my brain is loose". The rope swing wasn't easy to get to the shore; It took over a dozen tries throwing another rope with a stick tied to it to succeed.
The jump itself ended quickly, as the stick was slippery, and the plunge premature. Satisfied to have met the challenge, we returned to pack, breakfast, and take a twenty minute goodbye hike on the red trail.
