Tomorrow morning we will see the sites of Ravenna
When we were planning our vacation we thought we were going to be staying in Parador's in Spain, B&B's, and Agritouristas in Italy. We found out we are not that kind of people. We like our privacy, amenities offered by nicer hotels (like toilet seats), and we need WiFi to plan our next day and review the history of the places we saw that day so we can be accurate when writing the Blog. We never know exactly where we are going to be when night falls, so we are not able to make reservations in advance. We tried guessing at that a couple of times and it did not work. So, last night when leaving Ferrara around 4:30 (with only 70 km to Ravenna), we started looking for hotels along the road with the help of Bruja. She has many fine qualities, but she can't tell you anything about the hotels in her list. So when we pulled off for dinner, at what we thought was Ravenna (but was actually Porta Garibaldi), we asked where the nicer hotels in town were (hoping to get WiFi). We didn't realize Garibaldi was a beach town on the Adriatic and all of the nicer hotels were still shut down for the winter. Finally realizing we were not where we thought we were we set off for the real Ravenna. Arriving there Bruja lead us to an adaquate hotel with Wifi, but it was downtown with parking a block away. By then it was 9:30pm and we were crabby.
