Dear Journal,
I stopped outside of a temple to ask a few questions about their religious beliefs before I headed back to London. I discovered that one religious practice they do is build temples to honor their gods and build homes for the gods to live in. They decorate them with massive statues, elaborate paintings and carved design. The priest also performs a daily ritual of taking a carved statue of a god place it on the alter, undress it then bathed it by burning incense then dress it again apply ointment to its face and present it with food. That is just a little weird to me its kind of like a little girl with a baby doll. A religious belief is that that there is an afterlife and that you need to be buried with your possessions so that you can take them to the underworld with you. Also that your body does not leave but your spirit "ka" does. By doing the mummification process they contribute to their community since it is very polite and then the bodies do not reek. Also by keeping the families together then they are more secure.
Goodbye for now my beloved journal,
Professor Gibber
