The Florida Turnpike :P

While we planned to leave at 3pm, we actually ended up getting out of the driveway at 5:15pm, whereupon my sister made me turn back around after 5 minutes because she had forgotten to pack some trivial cream or the other. Anyways, I drove on the Florida Turnpike for hours today/tonight, and it really is quite a scenic route (by Floridian standards). It's a pretty enjoyable route. With my Nikon at my side and the mindset of a budding photographer beginning to develop (pun intended) in my head, I'm starting to find beauty everywhere I look, because I try to look through a different perspective each time. Hopefully this action will become habitual soon. Anyways, today I experimented with different shutter speeds from inside the van facing out towards the coming highway. I only wish there were a camera that could capture low-light scenes with the same quality as the human eye. I can only aspire to get closer and closer to this quality with more practice. We decided to stop in Gainesville for the night and continue our trip to our first destination - Louisville, KY - tomorrow morning.

Awesome! I look forward to following you. I like the fact you mentioned of looking at things from a different perspective. A few years ago, when Nabil and I were hiking in the Acadia National Park...Nabil was teaching me all the controls on my camera! While experimenting, I noticed that if I envision a picture a certain way and then just change my position slightly by moving in a different direction and looking for another angle, the picture looks different everytime! So if something looks obvious...look for another way...it may be even better! :)

And so it begins! I eagerly await the coming pictures. The states you're going to are so beautiful and I'm sure your "budding photographer" mindset will only make them look better. Have fun!
