Primavera Parade

Flag of Mexico  , Pacific Coast,
Friday, March 21, 2014

Friday, March 21st, the first day of Spring, in Mexico it is called Primavera! All of the primary schools and kindergartens participate in a parade. They go to great lengths in decorating their floats. Most have a princess and sometimes a prince as well sitting on the float throwing candy to the other children.

The mothers walk alongside the floats to be sure that no one falls off, and they refill those candy bags too. Everyone is all dressed up, the children in the audience are dressed in costumes, something like Halloween, even the babies.

The princesses have formals on with make up and professional hair styles. They were all beautiful. It was a long parade almost a mile long.

We just happened to go to town to buy a few things and ran into the parade. Stopped in our tracks, we could not drive the scooter across the boulevard. We parked it on the side street and watched the parade. good timing.

It was all about the children, We think it is the cutest parade we have ever seen.

You will be so excited to learn the ice is still on the lake at our home (yes we had to go home), the snow is mostly gone, the roads and driveways are muddy and spongy, and it is getting to 52 - 55 F. Glad you guys are representing us so thoroughly and sounds like good setup in motorhome. Randy Springer
