We took a day trip to Mazatlan with Evelyn and Steve. A couple from Colorado that we met at the campground. Evelyn is a very adventurous woman who drove her motorhome down by herself. Steve is still working and has only three weeks off, he flew down to join her for a while before they drive home.

We took the water taxi from Stone Island to the city, a three minute ride, then a Pulmonia to the central market. A Pulmonia is a taxi that looks like a four seat golf cart that is put on a VW chassis and engine. The back seat is raised and can fit three people. They are open and cool to ride in.

We walked around the market, did a little shopping, mostly just looking around then walked over to the Fish Market restaurant on the malecon (waterfront boardwalk) for dinner.

After dinner we went to the top of the Freeman Hotel for a drink and a view of the sunset and the Colonial district of the city. It is a wonderful place to see it all. The city is getting ready for their Carnival celebration with large paper mache statues of clowns and the like.

It was a fun trip and we got some good pictures, we hope you enjoy them.
