Well thought I had better complete the trip to Mazatlan. We left Monterey early in the morning as it was cold.  Had to go right through town and then hit the toll road.  I posted some videos of the road , not to interesting  but you can see what type of road and the scenery.  We had a little incident in Torreon,  we missed the turn and ended up just about  in Centro.  A cop came up beside us and looked at me like what are you doing so I ignored him and kept on going and thought I had lost him but pretty soon he was beside me again and this time he said pull over.  I did and he was going to give us a ticket as trucks and big things are not allowed down town.  He was going to give me a ticket but a older cop came up and told him to just show us the way out of town.  Anyway we got out of there and headed for Durango.  Had to gas up there as there are no gas stations on the new road from Durango to Mazatlan.  The new highway is beautiful, it has 63 tunnels and 32 bridges.  I took some videos of the road and some still pics.  The one video shows a car parked right at the entrance to a runaway truck ramp.  The person was taking a pic, kind of like a Darwin award waiting to happen.  Anyway there is a video of the big bridge, it is 3,688 ft long, 52 ft wide and 1,309 ft.high off  the ground. One of the tunnels is 2,150 m long [over a mile].  The scenery is just grand through the Sierra Madre Occidental Mountains.  Made it to the park near Mazatlan and all set up.  Will post about the campground next.

They do not allow big truck or big vehicles downtown. Because the streets are very narrow and crowded.
