6/8, Tuesday – 5:30 AM we arrived at the hospital after receiving the early morning call that Vicki was in labor. Judah Havel Smith was born at 11:06 PM, 7 lbs. 10 oz., 19 ¾ inches long, a beautiful scrunchy faced little boy with lots of dark hair, long fingers and toes. Linda’s a grandmother!
6/9 – 6/14, Wednesday – Linda and I went to the hospital the next day to visit the new family, take pictures and hope Judah would wake up to smile at us. During the next few days we were treated to fun dinners and visits with friends who also come to the desert for the winter. On our last night in Portland area, we got together for dinner at the new parents house to celebrate the birth of Judah (6/8), the birthday of Alexis (6/13), Linda’s daughter and Linda’s daughter-in-law, Vicki (6/6). It will be a last visit for a couple of months with the “cute guy”, who by now is holding court and charming the audience. I’m sure we won’t believe the changes between now and mid August when we see him again
