- We traveled today midday to Linda's mother’s house in Centralia, WA. It is hard to believe but we had very little rain on our drive. The landscape throughout the Northwest is lush with hills and dells, many fir trees and thick bushy underbrush. The Rhododendron and Azalea bushes are all blooming as well as the bright yellow Scotch Broom. Lois, Linda’s mom, fixed us a delicious roast beef dinner and afterward we visited and relaxed. At 95 years old she is remarkable. She still lives on her own, drives, cooks, cleans….all the things we dream about giving up someday. Linda calls her "the energizer bunny". For all you Europeans, the energizer bunny is a cartoon spokesman for Energizer batteries, which claims their batteries last longer than any other.
