Arrived in Washington this morning at 6.45am, buggered after a 4 hr flight and a 3hr time change. Slept for a couple of hours in a REALLY nice bed.. our apartment is part of the Hilton chain.. very nice :)
Walked around all the monuments today, saw the White House (from a distance, you're not allowed to get anywhere near it since 9/11), Capitol Hill, the Washington Monument and some of the War Memorials. Also went to the Air and Space Museum at the Smithsonian where they have full sized airplanes and rockets suspended from the ceiling, pretty impressive, and information about the space race which was fairly interesting. And it was all free!
