It took another four days before we could finally leave Mykonos! It blew hard from the south (where we were heading, of course) and rained heavily. The so called marina at Mykonos is not more than some rough concrete walls with no facilities. Very exposed to the south and a half hour walk to the town.

A birthday for me ticked over while we surged backwards and forwards on our lines with the swell that came round the breakwater. Didn't leave the boat at all on that day as it was so rough. However we managed to score a dozen beers when a large commercial ketch needed help with it's lines when it berthed.

When we finally got away it was a case of motoring into it until we were south of the island and then we had some great reaching conditions for the 42nm to the island of Dhonousa where we anchored until 4am the next day.
