Where I stayed
North Quay, Poros Harbour
A gentle breeze, hot and sunny, now this is what we came here for.
It was only an hour's motoring to Poros. Quite an amazing approach to the town. From the south the channel takes you round the water front, almost like driving up the main street.
We found a marina like pontoon and dropped anchor to tie back to it. Nice and secure, and apart from the inevitable ferry wash every now and then we felt able to leave the boat and check out the town.
It is such a busy little place, quite a crossroads with boats, ferries, water taxis, water barges, dinghies, fishing boats all coming and going. Both up and down the channel and across to the mainland. It almost needs traffic lights. But whistle blowing and shouting seems to do the trick.
