(Danie)
We wake up today after all this rain in our minds and while having breakfast run into a bloke from England. Yeah, my vocabulary is going all international now.  heehee. We ask him what his plans are for the day and he tells us that he is on a yacht tour starting in 15 minutes for an all day trip.  Hmmm that sounds a lot better that playing with our toes on the beach.  I run to the front desk and ask the dude if we can get on the same tour and he says that we have to be ready in 10 minutes.  I run to Ian and yank the feta cheese out of his hands and tell him that we have to leave right now.

Lo and behold, we are on the yacht within 10 minutes. I didnt' have time to buy any seasick pills, so I batted my eyes one too many times at the front desk person and he gave me some pills from his stash.  I love Turkish dudes!  Not sure how many I need to take, I pop most of them before getting on.

It worked quite well. I wasn't sick at all and I had a great time. I was up on the deck most of the time and stared out at the sea to keep eye level. The sun was up and the weather was brilliant!!  Who knew??

After two hours of sailing the yacht stops for a beach swim.  Everyone jumps in and they are all having a great time. As reluctant as I am, I hold back and don't know if I should or not. Then I think of my brother and know that he will say :"Are you stupid? You didn't swim in Turkey? what's wrong with you?"  Not wanting to hear that... I inch my way in on the ladder.  Everyone has already gone back and forth a few times from the top deck jumping and all and I am still trying to get my tummy to get used to the not so warm water.

Then I see him!! A kid huffing and puffing behind me on the steps and wanting to go in the water. I was trapped. I couldn't go back to the boat and I couldn't take my time anymore. I had to make a move.   I told the kid to go by me and he just gives me the look. I wasn't sure if he understood me, but the situation was not getting any better.  Ian started yelling at me to get in and ...anyway, the pressure was too much.. I went in and started cussing right away. I wanted to choke the kid and everyone around the kid.  Brrrr... I take a couple of  floating noodles with me so I can float on them and swim towards Ian.  He's got the biggest smile on his face now.  "See, I told you you could do it!"...If you only knew... I almost threw a kid in the water man.

5 minutes later, I was out. I have had enough and my brother can pipe down! I did it after all.
I get up and towel up and lie in the sun to warm up.  An hour or so later, another stop to swim.  ??huh?? Didn't we just do that?  Everyone is all excited and I am mumbling a little, but I didn't want to show it, so I said :"yey, more swimming!!"  :-)  Ian makes me go on the ramp in the middle deck so we can both jump together.  He said that it's easier if we jump. He counts to three and we both jump... urgh.. i mean he jumps alone. I am left alone in the middle deck hanging on to the sides with an enormous force.

There was nothing/no one that could have plowed me away from the railing.  Ian keeps on encouraging me and says that I can do it and blablabla. I block him out.  I look down, it's way too scary. I can't do this. I should try the steps again.  While I was trying to return back to the middle deck, the sailor dude sees me and starts heading towards me to give me a push. He starts waving his hands in the air and saying stuff I didn't want to understand.  He gets closer and sees my white knuckles and starts prying my fingers open one by one. Now that I have made a scene and everyone is looking, I can't go back.  I let go of the railing and jump in. Again, I cuss out loud in Arabic, French and English and a couple of minutes later, I am happily snorkeling my behind away in the ruins of beaututiful Fethyie.

It couldn't have been any better day than that! The water was great, the sun was beaming and the food was excellent.  And to top it all, I swam and jumped too! Not bad at all. Thanks to Ian for keeping up with all my mumbles.
