Hi travelfans!

Ahoy! (hello in Czech)

Well, we're here, in Prague enjoying ourselves much more than you people back home. You won't believe our day yesterday. Actually you might. Anyway, we touched down on the evening of the fourth and only just found the hostel. On the morning of the fifth we awoke to a beautiful Czech autumn day, blue sky, cold etc. Immediately we worked our way through the beautiful baroque streets (photos will follow later) on our way to the castle. In a matter of hours we visited Prague's foremost cathedral, the national gallery, the palace and saw the crown jewels. We're almost all cultured out, and almost considered resorting to MacDonalds, however we found that it was much cheaper to buy dinner at the local supermarket, at a grand total of around 62p each (and half of lunch for the next day!) Prague of course is beautiful, and in the evening we attended a concert of Bach in a charming little church. The acoustics were incredible, and later, upon wandering around Prague in the dark, stumbled upon a free concert of a string quartet playing pop songs with a backup singer! Quite incredible, and Eleanor was freaked as they started playing Eleanor Rigby immediately after we arrived (!). Today, whilst not as totally incredible has been fun, as it has involved a tour of the Jewish quarter and the holocaust memorial (a mite solemn) and a relaxing stroll in the palace gardens in the evening sun. Of course, whilst climbing up to the palace and back (on a mountainous hill on the other side of the river) is hard work we are bot really enjoying it. Tonight we're off for a celebratory meal and some traditional Czech cuisine. See you in Vienna,

Richard and Eleanor
