Hola seņoritas and seņoritos (can anyone explain me why seņoritos doesn't work?)

Gian has departed from Lima and is probably home now. Thank you very much for travelling with me mate, it was plenty of fun and some great memories we share!

I took the nightbus from Lima to Arequipa (second largest city of Peru with about 1 million inhabitants) and went straight to my hostel. I met an englishman (the pommies are everywhere!) and an Danish girl and I join them to check out the city. Arequipa is beautiful, as you can see on the pictures. The plaza de armas (downtown Arequipa) is fantastic! I went to have lunch for 4 soles (Lomo Saltado and Arroz Chaufa, typical peruvian meals) at arguably the best place in Arequipa (and who am I to argue?)

I went on a 2 day trip to the Colca Canyon, according to our guide the deepest (not the lowest!) canyon in the world. Showed me once again how impressive the Andes are! (What are the Alpes when you have the Andes?)
We watched condors taking off from different places, saw once again Alpacas etc. Speaking (or writing, rather) of Alpacas: I tasted Alpaca and it reminded me a bit of pork. However,  pork is better and Alpaca a bit too dry for my taste.

I went to a museum about Juanita, the ice princess. It was very, very impressive. Juanita was 13 year old girl who was sacrificed by the Inca about 500 years ago as a gift for the gods. The mummy was very well preserved, I could hardly believe it! The whole history about the Inca empire is really interesting, I really can't wait to go to Cuzco. I might stay however another couple of days here and soak up the atmosphere.

I plan to stay in Cuzco & The Sacred Valley for about 2 weeks (inlcuding an alternative route to Machu Picchu).

This is it for the moment, hasta luego
