Today we visited in the nearest big city - Kirkenes. Or well, maybe Kirkenes should not be called a city with 6000 inhabitants. The nearest real city is probably Murmansk in Russia. It's only 8 kilometers to Russia from Kirkenes, by the way. We could't cross over since we don't have visas and Mäksä says that the road from Kirkenes to Murmansk is challenging... You can hear lots of Russia in Kirkenes, too: there are many Russians living in there. There are Finnish people there, too, and Sami people as well. Since it seems that I've developed a habit of using all the official languages when I'm introducing places, I have to tell you also that Kirkenes is called Kirkkoniemi in Finnish and Girkonjárga in Sami.

On our way to Kirkenes we stopped to take some pohotos of a beautiful scenery and a Finnish speaking man stopped a car next to us. He told that he had moved here 40 years ago when he was 15 to work for the fish factory.

In Kirkenes we did some shopping. I can recommend second hand shops. And in the Sparland they sell nice shoes. You can also here lots of Russia there.

When we came back to Bugoynes we took a kick sledge and did our last tour around the village. We stopped for awhile to collect shells from the beach and listen to the impressive sounds of the waves of the ocean. Tomorrow we have to go.
