I began my morning by waking up my husband around 5.00 AM & drive to the eastern beach (they call it sunrise beach). It was still dark & no light in the sandy road, so we just relied on our car lamps.
The sunrise beach access we could find was only at the fish market, where fishing boats were preparing to sail out.

It was a cloudy & windy morning. The waves were pretty rough, the sea smelly of salt & the sand of dried fish.
Watching the fishermen carrying out their daily activities, rushing to the sea, and breaking the waves to get their worth of money of the day made me think they have one of the toughest jobs around. Surprisingly, photos that I took during this session were my favourites thru out the trip.

After breakfast, we headed to Cikaso Waterfall. We had to pass the Surade Village first & take a right turn, where it says Cikaso & had a signboard to go to the Plantation ("Perkebunan"). Before a big steel bridge, there are a couple of houses, with sign on the wall "curug cikaso -->". that was the stop to park our car & we took a 20mins walk across dry paddy field to see the watefall. We knew it was going to be a dry waterfall, ie. no water at all. It is not that high, maybe less than 20m but it's wide. I can imagine how magnificent it will be if there was water on it.

Sights around the bridge was very peaceful with the green canyon colour of the river water & the greeneries around it. The plantation after the bridge was also a beautiful sight.

We took lunch in the SuradeVillage & inquiried abuot Cigangsa Waterfall with the owner of the foodstall. She said it was worth the visit & we took directions from her, as we couldnt find sign boards on the road to reach this place. This is the most awesome location of a waterfall i've ever seen, where you can see the local canyon from the top of the waterfall & peer down to the bottom of it. It was just located behind somebody's backyard & a local mosque. To reach the place at the small round-about in the SuradeVillage, take a left turn (if you are from Ujung Genteng) & follow the roads, take a right turn at a tri-junction, and take the first left road & follow it till you find a mosque & park behind the mosque.

Next visit, we wanted to visit a place, cant remember the name, but they said that's where the locals go to see big waves. Taman Jaya i think. but the road was really in bad condition & we didnt dare to force our sedan thru it. So we took a U-turn & decided to drop by at Alamada Resort.
This turned up beautifully as the sight was a mini Tanah Lot/a small island made of rock in the middle of a river mouth & the ocean. the waves were big & the wind strong against the clear blue sky. we took a mini lunch here.
The resort is the most beautiful one in Ujung Genteng Area, but it's far from Ujung Genteng Beach. I think this would be a good place to see sunrise.

After this, we went back to Ujung Genteng Village, went to the fishmarket & bought fresh fish & lobster to ask the hotel to cook it for us for dinner. Yummy!
