We had decided to look into going on a 4 day boat trip, a Komodo Tour, after our diving - plenty of agents sell these tours on Gili Trawangan, and we bought the trip with Kencana - they leave twice a week, Monday and Thursday and include 3 meals a day and sleeping onboard (we payed 1.400.000 Rp). We had our last dive Monday morning, and decided to spend the next couple of days on Gili Air.
 
Gili Air is closest to Lombok and the most populous with a population of about 1800 people. It is much more laid back than Gili T, also with most activity on the east beach; we quickly found Freedom Bar that made a killer Arak Attack (Arak (a spirit made in a village on Lombok, this one based on rice), lime, honey and ice mixed in a shaker) for 15.000 Rp. This was also where the best beach was, so we caught some sun and the snokelling was amazing! We saw turtles every day!
