What I did
Valparai
Woodbriars Stanmore Tea Estate
Parry Agro Paralai Estate
Somewhat misty dawn at Valparai. It was cold that morning but the mist soon broke to reveal an azure blue sky
Perfect weather for a walk into the nearby Woodbriar Stanmore Tea Estates where we met some friendly tea ladies!
They were eager to chat and hospitably invited us to come to their homes for lunch after we had finished our walk.
Some "wildlife"
There is wildlife in these tea estates. They come from the forest corridors adjoining the estate
Blue skies and GREEN TEA were what regaled us on our walk through the estate
While we were at the estate, the Estate Manager came by on his motorbike. He was from Coorg originally. We chatted a while. It was getting warm by this time and we decided to go back to our house and come back later for our early evening visit to Parry Agro.
As we passed the PWD colony we saw the monkey gang again!
This pretty sight of wildflowers overlooking the estates greeted us again on our evening walk down the short cut path. There were so many species of birds in those bushes but all that I could capture on camera was a magpie robin and a cheeky yellow wagtail.
An unidentified forest tree at Puthuthottam
And there was Mr Malabar Giant Squirrel again!
Passed that small waterfall again. The ground there is leech infested though it has a good growth of ferns and lichen too.
And another Giant Squirrel merrily munching away
A Black Winged Kite was perched on a tall Silver Oak at Parry Agro estate. Every now and then he would fly a short distance, hover in the air and swoop down to get his catch. Then he would fly back to his branch.
Those Lion Tailed Monkeys were there again, in the forest at the Paralai Hospital.
This small temple could be seen in the distance amidst the tea bushes, and another by the roadside
Paralai Estate
And the last bison of this trip
