Houston we have touchdown, ha ha, not the Space Shuttle but we are sure glad to be here after all the worry yesterday about being able to depart or not. Early morning flights are the worst, but we were able to get ahold of our Gap representative early this am before going to the airport and she assured us things we still "a go".

Arrived in Houston just after noon, time for a great lunch at Pappadeaux - the best coconut shrimp and sweet potato and pecan pie! Eating lots before the "I am a vegetarian" diet I will be on in Peru.

Getting ready to fly into the earthquake - hope all will be well in Lima. We are both relieved that the airport is still open.

Will send an update from Lima - and lots of pictures.

Hi Al and Jill, tried to call today but am just realizing you are on the road! (er, I mean in the air) glad you had a good lunch although I hear the deep fried guinea pig on a stick in peru is delicious.
