So the drought might be coming to an end here finally.  Or at least this week it seems like it.  I have NEVER experience rain like I did on Monday night.  There was a lake in Natasha's front yard, and there were rivers flowing down the streets.  We went to Nick and Bec's house that night for a wonderful dinner (Nick is John's best man) and I was amazed that people could still drive in that much rain.  I'm totally fine with the rain right now as it is turning everything from a very dull brown to a nice bright green.  Perfect for the wedding!  Now it just needs to stop for Saturday...

So Monday John and I went down to the Coast to sort things out at the venue.  I was the first time I saw it, so I was pleasantly surprised by how nice it was. :)  Thank god!  We even got to see the room we will be staying in the night of the wedding... we'll definitely be taking photos from the balcony... it overlooks the water and is absolutely beautiful!!  Plus the rooms were just renovated, so it's all awesome colours and decor.

That night in the crazy rain storm, we headed over to Nick and Bec's and man do they live in this NICE place!  It was just another reminder that Calgary completely lacks architecture and funky design.  Their place is awesome.  And they see the city skyline from their huge deck.  So we have decided to have the BBQ on Friday night at their place.  Their building has a huge open area for BBQ's and such right off the pool.  So I figure there will be plenty of opportunities for great photos... got that Paul? ;)

The jetlag is still lingering which is a pain because by 5am we are wide awake, but by 5pm or so we are starting to fall asleep.  Bec gave us some melatonin pills (I've read numerous times that it helps with jet lag, but can't remember how... but am willing to try it!)... so far I'm not sure if they are making a difference, but heck, I'm still trying it.

Had a fantastic day yesterday with Natasha.  After having a leisurely coffee on her patio we headed off to do some shopping for both my wedding and for hers in April.  It was a great girlie day and everything just fell into place.  I picked up my shoes for her wedding (they're HOT) and they happen to perfectly match a dress I found for my Christmas party this year :)  That's how good the shopping went... I found my Christmas party dress here, by chance.  haha  And I pick up my jewellery on Thursday... I saw it and it is gorgeous!  Natasha did a FANTASTIC job is picking it out - it was EXACTLY what I was wanting!!! So I am thoroughly happy... everything is falling into place beautifully.  There's still a lot to do, and we are booked pretty solid until we head off to Sydney.  But it is all good.  I wish I had more time to spend with Natasha, as we have been having so much fun together.  I feel so blessed to have such an awesome sister-in-law... she's someone I would be friends with even if she wasn't family.  And that's cool.  :)

After we had such a great day shopping, we had to race back to the house to pick up Ben and John - his parents were flying in and we were meeting them at the airport.  We picked them up (thank god their flight was about 20 minutes late as we were a touch late getting there - whoops!) and we headed off for some awesome Thai food.  Both his parents look fantastic - his mom hits the gym every day and you can tell.  She looks fantastic.

So here I am, Wednesday morning, having a cup of java, and will be heading back down to the coast with Natasha for our trial hair and make-up.  I'll hopefully finally be able to meet Kyla my florist who has been such a blessing... she has been such a huge help.  I'm excited to meet her.

Gotta run... life is good...
