Ia orana,





Let us share some of the mysterious creatures of the atoll water world with you…


Black pointers, lemon sharks, butterfly fish, leopard sting manta rays, turtles, an infinite amount of different kinds of colorful fish… From our campsite on the beach, we hear the quiet lagoon on one side and the powerful ocean waves on the other, while the shark fins pass by in front of us. The atoll is thin and so flat that it makes the Netherlands look hilly. The main danger is the heavy coconuts falling from the trees.


Either from above (snorkeling) or from within (diving), the sea life here is so rich that it feels like being in an aquarium.


We argue quite often between us over the color of the water: is it blue, is it green, is it turquoise, or is it a mix of all those? This subject keeps us busy at cocktail time, in our very rushed and busy life here.
