The beauty of working full-time, as opposed to being in school full-time, is that you have weekends free...to do whatever you want...without having to sacrifice large chunks of time for studying. This past weekend, my roommate Shari and I decided we'd take advantage of our new-found free time and take a mini road trip down the coast to Southern California. Shari's from there, so she's done this trip before.

Friday night we stopped in Huntington Beach to visit a college friend of mine, Rich, and then Saturday we made our way down to San Diego, where I reconnected with another long-time Penn State friend, Joe.  Because of time constraints, it was more of a catching up with friends trip than sightseeing tour, but I managed to take some fun pictures anyway. Unfortunately, it was back up to Monterey again on Sunday afternoon, but the trip was worth it.  Southern California is sunny, colorful, and laid back. I'm already looking forward to making another trip down there sometime.
