Hello everyone... here we are in Split... absolutely beautiful...we're right at home here, locals have mistaken us to be locals... just come from the beach and a lovely experience, all sorts of people, big, little, old and young... all sorts and yet accepted... love the lack of inhibition (topless 70 year old women and elderly men in transparent white bathers) sheer beauty... we're staying in a classic accomodation part of the old city of Split The Diocletian Palace, built around 65-75BC...policy and litigation seems non existent here,or perhaps lax, people ride scooters motorbikes etc without protective head gear and smoking is accepted in restaurants, buses, basically anywhere...I hope the accomodation doesn't collapse 'cause who do we sue if we happen to be inside at the time, I guess this is when the Australian embassy comes in to play:) I guess this lends itself to a sense of freedom that the locals exhibit here... we feel very safe here, more so than in Perth or Denmark for that matter... well me loved ones we're absolutely enjoying ourselves, people are friendly and the food is fantastic and very cheap (Olivia exchanged $40 Aus to 168.98kunar... Alex dived into the Adriatic ocean (beach) yesterday (brought a tear to his father's eyes)... Adrian has been very emotional lately, this is great 'cause it takes the pressure off me, however I usually have a good reason for it :) ... this morning Adrian and I wondered out early without the offspring and stumbled across 5 young gorgeous men who were harmonising some old style Croatian folk tunes, twas beautiful the hairs on the back of my neck(and we all know I've got them) stood proud and tall with very "reserved" emotion... have so much to share with you all, but the 'smoke is getting in my eyes' (don't understand how Humphrey Bogart's women thought this to be romantic)... I'm going to try the photo download thingy hope it works... next stop Korcula...love to you from Isabel xxx

Thanks for the ongoing commnentary - such a great idea that certainly wasn;t an option in my travelling days of scratchy phones in overcrowded, chaotic, decibels screaming post offices. Love and hugs to you all
