April 23, Natural bridge and Glass House mountains (Ngungun peak)
Driving North, we had time to visit two different places. Natural Bridge was formed by the river which changed into a waterfall, digging hard enough through the rock to make an opening… and at night, one can witness the glow worms that hang from the ceiling of the cave… a beautiful rain forest where leeches love to get onto you as soon as they find a shoe…and this time, it is mine… Beurk!
In the province of Queensland, the Glass House mountains form weird peaks in the middle of trees plantations and agricultural fields. The trail to the top of Ngungun peak is short but steep enough for me to transpire a lot…. from the top, the views are well worth it. The sky is cloudy but it does not rain and it is much drier than where we were one hour ago. Corinne

En route vers le Nord, nous avons eu le temps de visiter deux endroits très différents! Natural Bridge a été creusé par la rivière transformée en chute d'eau, creusant un trou dans la roche… et la nuit, les gens peuvent voir les vers luisants qui pendent du plafond de la caverne... une belle forêt vierge et plutôt mouillée... encore un endroit où les sangsues s’en donnent à cœur joie dès qu’elles trouvent une chaussure qui passe par là. Cette fois sur moi…Beurk!
Dans la province de Queensland, les montagnes Glass House forment des pics épars au milieu de plantations d’arbres et de champs d’agriculture. Le chemin en haut de Ngungun est court mais très en pente...suffisamment pour me faire suer mais la vue d’en haut en vaut vraiment la peine... la pluie a fait place à un ciel nuageux et le sol n’est pas du tout aussi mouillé que là où nous étions il y a une heure.
