April 17th, Byron beach
The thing about waves is that they not only keep coming, but they change constantly, yet you know, they'll be there again and again. They tire you out before they would die down themselves. The kids are hooked to surfing now! That’s it! We bought two second hand boards and they have been having fun, trying to stand up and ride the waves, sometimes all the way to the beach, at other times, plunging into the blue ocean before they even got to stand up. We also got body boards and Lance and I have been playing in the waves too... there is a lot of current and walking in the water, at times, seems like a workout on its own!
It has been raining so hard on and off, that Fabyan has not been able to finish his dive course... they are waiting for the swells to go down a bit... so, we hope that by Tuesday he will be done and we might continue North. Yesterday, Peggy organized a "make your own" pizza... where we each could choose what to put on our individual dough rectangles. What a good idea!! Except that today at lunch, some little “mouse” took half of the remaining pizza I could not eat yesterday... hum...which kid??? Corinne
