April 10, Nelson Bay to Pacific Palms
The whole coast of Australia is like a giant necklace made of beautiful beaches... and they are all different even if they seem quite similar.... fine sand, well packed towards the water's edge where one can walk or jog like the kids did. Unfortunately, we have arrived a bit late in the season and the water is still too cold... though the boys manage to jump into it before they get out of it just as fast. Tristan keeps on fishing and has been more lucky lately, so, at lunch today, we found a swimming pool that was totally open where we could shower and we ate fish right there on the parking lot, before we headed further North toward Pacific Palms. It rains quite a bit and the weather keeps on changing, from bright sunshine to thunderstorm in a matter of a few minutes. The camper gets very muddy and I am tired of the mess... I wish at times I had a proper house with all the amenities it includes... camping outdoors is more fun when it is hot and sunny! Corinne

Toute la côte de l'Australie est comme un géant collier fait de belles plages ... et elles sont toutes différentes même si elles se ressemblent.... sable fin, bien tassé vers le bord de l'eau où l'on peut marcher ou courir comme les enfants l'ont fait. Malheureusement, nous sommes arrivés un peu tard dans la saison et l'eau est encore trop froide ... même si les garçons réussissent à sauter dedans avant qu'ils n’en ressortent aussi vite. Tristan continue de pêcher et a été plus chanceux ces derniers temps, donc, pour déjeuner aujourd'hui, nous avons trouvé une piscine publique qui était totalement ouverte où l'on a pu prendre une douche et nous avons mangé du poisson juste là, sur le parking, avant de partir plus au nord vers Pacific Palms. Il pleut et le temps ne cesse de changer, de soleil à orage violent en quelques minutes. Le camping-car devient très boueux et je suis fatiguée de la pagaille ... à certains moments je souhaite avoir une vraie maison avec toutes les commodités qu'elle comprend ... camper en plein air est plus amusant quand il fait chaud et ensoleillé!
