Itīs hard to describe this place. Itīs one of those countries that doesnīt have just one main attraction but a little bit of everything for everyone. All you need for this town is a bit of food in your bag and some good shoes on your feet. The architecture is beautiful, almost every building has a gothic feel to it- not to mention the Charles Bridge which is a gorgeous example of Czech design. For you movie trivia fans you have seen this bridge at least once before, at the end of the adrenaline junkie movie TripleX.

But if you need a favorite site I would definitely say the Astrological Clock was our highlight. It shows with accuracy where the sun and moon are (in which sign of the zodiac) and any religious holidays you are in. At the top there are 4 figurines: Man holding a mirror(Vanity), Man holding money(Greed), Man holding guitar(Amusment) and finally the skeleton with a bell in his hand. Every hour the skeleton rings the bell to remind them that time is still running while all three are saying no as if itīs not time yet. Ok... so itīs kinda creepy but very nice. Legend has it that after the clock was completed, Prague didnīt want the artist to duplicate his work so they blinded him. In a very understandable fit of rage the man asked his assistant to put a stop to the clock and it took them a very long time to figure out how to make it work again!

Yes you might have noticed that I didnīt mention Karlovy Vary, a small tourist trap town where they have hot spring waters that will give you a long youthful life and supposedly cures whatever ails you. But thereīs a catch: You have to drink it?! Did you ever try to drink sulfuric bitter salty water? If so please explain how this will "extend" my life and not just kill taste buds... suffice it to say we are not getting eternally young and we didnīt stay very long!

On a side note I totally found a treasure here- Cobra rock climbing shoes. LaSportiva, a climbing company, stopped making them something like four years ago, but it would appear that the Czech didnīt get the memo. In my personal opinion these shoes are the best I ever had, and they were super cheap here- less than $100.  Sooo... before you could say "DobryDen" they were on my visa and in my bag. :)

Well, a week flies by, next we are off to Switzerland for some Chocolate and my Bond jump!!! :D
