Paraguay ... what an interesting country, I can Sum it up in 3 parts:

1 - Sketchy In
2 - Nice in the middle
3 - Sketchy Out

Sketchy in:
In the lonely planet book they strictly say: Dont cross the bridge for the border, its dangerous & you ll probably get shanked for your troubles.. And yet here we are... on the bridge, wondering how this happen... and then it hits you, the bus drop you off mid way because the traffic was too big and he didnt feel like waiting so .. to bad for you enjoy your hike...  Sometimes I wondre why I even read these book if we dont even listen to them...
Well the bridge wans´t too bad and we didnt get rob so good for us ! ;)

Asuncion, is a really friendly town, you can walk around pretty easy. Weather is nice but its not for every traveller. You feel safe and the food is great but povertry is a big issue here. The city has had better days. But if you want to experience something different where few travellers go, if you want to be in a city where its not what you see but more how it feels than for sure Paraguay is the place to go in South America.

Sketchy out:
borders.. if its not in a airport they are never easy to cross. We arrive only to be told that having a camera is not permitted here, and you cant bring it over the border, but the guys give you a wink and hinds your bag in the bus before the inspection... Great... comes back and ask for 200US for a job well done... here we go:
-So you tell him you dont even have that kind of money <lie>
-You tell him you dont understand what he is saying <lie>
-He tell you that if you dont give him the money your going to the police <lie-truth??>
-You simple drop 60US for both and walk away hoping you will still make it in the bus without the guy taking you to the cops, only to find out that after he paid the guy with some of your money... which pretty solve the question what would have happen if I would have said no... It wouldn´t have been good.
Well the wheels have been greesed a bit and we were able to get on our way.. with our cameras which is awesome! You know its never easy .. but I guess if it was everybody would be doing this.

We our heading to Cordoba, a really nice city on the Argentina side, from there Im meeting up with my girlfriend :) in Buenos Aires and after that who know!

I hope you guys our having a good week, See you soon!!!

Icy, Bribing: helping me cross borders since 2007!, Frosty
