Saigon is definitely my biggest disapointment to date! I was expecting Hanoi on a much grander scale & with a cool western influence, but it was neither here nor there. I found it a bit drab, with all the annoyances of Hanoi, but little of the character. Think it says a lot about a place when me of all people thinks that the museums are the best thing about it!
The nightlife was alright & the markets pretty cool, but the people weren't as friendly as the rest of Vietnam. To be honest I'm struggling to write anything interesting about the place & I'm about a month behind on my blog so I'm just going to add the photos & move on to the next entry!!

I had a shave, but it well hurt & she missed spots which I then played with & they became sore because it's like poking a splinter into you!
This actually is called Notre Dame Cathedral... hmmm!

The War remnants museum was pretty harrowing, but wrapped up the history lesson of how David smacked Goliath's bum!

Crossing the road was more of a mission than anywhere else- fun at first; just tiring after a while! Actually, that's the best way to describe Saigon, mentally tiring; which is probably why all the expats we met were arseholes!

The Cu chi tunnels was a good day out. The VC dug them to hide from the US & would scurry from one exit to another to give the impression they had more soldiers than they actually did! As you can see they were pretty cramped & it was a serious work out on your thigh guns just getting from one exit to another, not to mention claustraphobic, pitch black & baking hot!

I also enjoyed the Independence Palace. It was like stepping back in time as it has been left exactly how it was the day the VC tanks rolled over the gates to officially reclaim Saigon. When the first VC officer arrived in the South Vietnamese' presidents office, the president said: "I've been waiting all day to hand power over to you" to which he repiled.... "you can't hand over what you don't have" which I though was pretty sharp!!

I did get my first taste of Xmas which was nice!

And I thought this was hilarious!!

And finally.... if I don't mention Rob anymore it's because he was pissing me off so I took matters into my own hands!!
