Shane, Neil and I spent too long at the Ferrari Museum and then got stuck in a 2 hour traffic jam north of Florence.

On top of this we were meant to meet up in some tiny town called Passignano sul Trasimeno. It wasn't on any of our maps and we took ages to find it.

This made us about 3 hours late to pick up Shanes girlfriend, Prue....

We were honestly expecting the worst - anger, maybe some violence or just general 'Emotional Incoherence'.
(no slant on Prue here, we'd be worried about this from standing up any girl for 3 hours)

We eventually found Prue and made a late arrival to the Pre Wedding Day dinner on the shore of Lake Trasimeno.

I walk in and immediately see Troppo and Big A. I'd not seen Troppo since '03 or Big A since '05. So we all settled in for quite a few beers and some catching up.

The Ceremony was in the Cortona Town Hall. Cortona is the quintissential italian hill town with an amazing history.

Most of the Cortona buildings date back to the 16th century but you can still see bits of Etruscan wall that date back to around 250BC. Coincidentally, this is close to when Hannibal defeated the Roman army on the banks of Lake Trasimeno.

Anyway, back to the wedding.

It was stinking hot and nowhere had Air Con. It was soaking shirt backs and betty swallocks everywhere.

We bought beers before the ceremony to attempt to cool off. Just after we cracked them open we got called in, the bride was about to arrive.

There may have been a few of us up the back of the ceremony quietly sipping on beers during the I DO's.

The reception was at a restored castle outside of town - it was one of the best receptions ever.

The food and wine was amazing. Even the pre-dinner snacks were amazing.

This restored castle also had a pool... When puff and lisa planned the wedding they were asked if they wanted a life guard on duty... in case anyone wanted to go swimming.

I dont think there's any way the person who asked them this could ever envisage what happened. At least 20 of us were in the pool late in the night, in suits, cocktail dresses or just shorts.

It was one great party.
