I had two days to kill between Jackson Hole and Revelstoke so I flew down to Vegas and attended the Renewable Energy World Conference.

It was perfectly timed between the ski trips and my friend, Lach, who was also up in Jackson Hole was down in Vegas with some mates as well so we caught up for a night out.

I'd been to Vegas a few times before and it was evident that it was really hurting since less tourists were coming out and fewer companies were booking their conferences out there because it was perceived negatively by... business investors, the goverment, pretty much everyone.

The bad thing was that Vegas is such "Tips" driven town (ie. most people live off their tips and depending on their job most peoples wages are pretty low) and no one's visiting. So the workers everywhere are making 10% of what they usually make and you can see it in everyone's comparitively depressed demeanor. From Cab drivers to Bartenders they all said that they're making 10% of what they usually make for that time of year.
