Where I stayed
What I did
shinseki,tsutenkaku,
This morning i went for a walk and ended up at an entirely different place to where i intended.but worse there was no logical explananation to how i ended up there by following that route on the map.It was a pleasant journey anyway , my first getting lost episode in japan.Went to shinseki(new world) a former luna park type entertainment district from before the 1920's that has been revitalised many times untill it is now some kind of 80's/90's retro wonderland of japanese kitch .yet strangely traditional in spirit, like an osakatown in osaka itselfe.
there are lots of impish buhdda like statues in the area called bilikens, an inuit good luck symbol that was popular in america in the early 20th century like the tiki and the kupie. It was adopted by osakans at the time and is like a symbol of Shinseki.
