We arrived at Nevers on Sunday evening after a four hour drive from Paris, only to find everything closed. We got a Pizza but couldn't scrounge any provisions for breakfast, so had to feast on cashew nuts next morning. The farmhouse we stayed in is deep in the countryside, in the midst of rolling hills, scattered with many villages. Lots of good cheap wine and food, so we cooked at home a bit. We did though eat one regional meal at a restaurant in a nearby village. In addition to our chosen dishes we were also presented with complementary dishes between the main courses, one of which seemed to consist of fried liver and crepes stuffed with 'sweetbreads'! We head to Tuscany on Saturday, and our flights back to Brisbane depart on the following Friday.
