What a  great place this is, the worlds largest sand Island. Basically there was 8 of us in a 4x4 and we navigate around the Island on the beach and over some crazy bumps and hills. I did not drive but it looked really fun. We only got stuck properly once, but managed to push it and dig enough sand out from the wheel. We stayed in a camp site and had BBQ's and drinks.

The first day we went to two different lakes with great views and clear water. The next day we went to Indian Head which is the most easterly point of Australia, and looked for dolphins andf wales and sharks but could only see them in the distance jumping through the water. We then walked to our next spot as there was no track and the tide was high so could not drive. A place called Champaign pools, where the sea crases over the rocks then fills up the water with bubbles, hence the champaign. We also saw a shark there, have some good photos of that. Only a baby tiger shark. It was roasting aswell and topped up the tan on the walk.

Back to the camp site and played drinking games and had another BBQ.

The final day was great too.We started off at a place which had layers of multi coloured sand, called the pinancles then we went to a ship wreck which has been there since the 1930's. Once we left there went to a creek which has natural water flowing into the sea. Finally we went to Lake Mckensie, which was amazing, but did not have long there as this was where we were stuck on route to here, and we had to catch the ferry.

Overall it was a great few days and had some good people in the van which helped alot. Back at beaches hostle now in Harvey Bay for one more night then off to Airlie Beach on the overnight bus, so will miss all the football. But will have a trip on a boat called "Spank Me" which takes me around the Whitsundays and the reef.

Fraser Island
Sounds like a great experience! Are you going to get a chance to do some proper diving off the Barrier Reef?

Do you want me to text updates on the match or will you be asleep?
