Today we started late, which was good after the
late night last night, but I woke up not remembering much about what
happened. I also woke up feeling a bit strange. After getting dressed
and doing a bit of packing I went down to breakfast where after
talking to some others, I found out a bit more on what happened last
night. After breakfast I went back to my room to get ready for the
day in Amsterdam. We went to the coach at 9.15am and took the coach
to the Iamsterdam sign. From here we walked to the nearby canal. Most
of the group were going to do the canal boat ride optional. However I
decided that this was going to be a waste of time. I had read what
other people had said about it and decided not to do it.

So after leaving the group, I went with a small
group of people walking along the canals to Ann Frank's house. It
took about 15 minutes to walk there and there was a line to get in,
so we lined up to get in, after a few minutes a few more people from
the group who were not doing the optional joined us. As we had almost
reached the door, those who were doing the optional sailed past and
headed to the ending point, then some came and joined us in line.
They had said that it was a crap optional, so I was right not doing
it.

Ann frank's house was great, we got a bit of
the history and saw the attic where she lived for 2 years. It was
interesting to learn all about it and the situation at the time. I
also bought the diary as I was leaving. When I left the museum I
found that there was no one from my group with me, so I decided to go
explore alone and to see what I could see. I took pictures of the
canals as I walked past. I walked to Dam square and when I got there
I had a look around the area, I got some souvenirs, got some food and
then found the Vodka museum. I entered this museum and got a personal
tour of the museum, then tried some of the Vodka's on offer, I then
bought some. After leaving the museum, I was no feeling like myself
and then continued to explore Dam square. I next went to the sex
museum and the erotic museum. These two museums were similar and had
lots on display. After looking at the sex and erotic museums I walked
through the RLD during the day, there were a few windows being used
for trade during the day. This time I did not get lots but walked
back to Dam square and caught a tram to the Heinekin experience area.

The Heinekin experience combines something like
a Duff brewery experience with a kind of wine tasting experience with
a few rides and some demonstrations and some history. It was also a
bit expensive but in the end worth it. There was a display of the
history of the company, displays on bottling and the actual making of
the beer. As I was going through the museum I meet up with some of
the Sydney boys, max and Mike as well as some of the Brisbane girls.
There was also a 4D movie experience and some tastings. We got to the
end of the tour and realised that we were running out of time, we had
to bet back to the coach meeting point by a certain time and we had
to get there first. Even though we were having fun we decided that we
had better head back, so we went to the tram stop and just missed the
tram, so we had to wait a few minutes for the next one.

The next tram arrived and we got on just as it
started to rain. We then decided to get off at the wrong stop and had
to run in the rain back to the coach, but it was still waiting for us
so all was good. We got the coach back to the hotel. Here we had a
bit of time until we were going out again for the optionals. It was
enough time to shower, do a bit more packing and have a few drinks in
the bar before we had to head off.

The first optional was a canal cruise where we
cruised in a long glass top boat. We saw canals and some of the city
of Amsterdam, but the cruise includes two free drinks. Mostly the
time was spent taking pictures with each other and sharing memories.
It was a good time. The cruise ended at the sea palace restaurant
where we would be having dinner. Here we got 3 free drinks and a good
meal. The meal was Dutch style asian food, it was good and the drinks
went well with it. After dinner we went back to the coach and went to
the club area, this was going to be a sort of bar hopping experience.
Our first stop was the Bull dog cafe where we got a free drink upon
entry and the had a few more drinks inside. We then went around the
the next club and it was very crowded that you could hardly move in
it. That was because there were three contiki tours, two topdeck
tours and an official pub crawl going on in the same general area.
After a bit people started leaving and I was able to get to the bar
and have a drink, plus we got a free drink upon entering.

We only stayed at the second place for about an
hour, then we moved onto our last club of the night. Here we stayed
the rest of the night, continuing to drink and dance. One thing about
drinking is that you need to use the toilet and the toilets in the
club were not free, over the entire night it cost me 3 euros to use
the bathroom at .50 euro cent a go. After a few hours and nearly
falling asleep I decide to leave the club, once outside I found that
there were a few others planning on going back as well. This also
included our tour manager jordie, so we started heading to the taxi
area, but first stopping at burger king for a feed. We then found
taxis and headed back to the hotel, where we went back to our rooms
and talked for a bit. We got back to the hotel just before 2am, but
didn't go to sleep until about 3am. It was a good night and it was a
great tour but it would end in the morning as we headed back to
London.
