Today was a a long day, 775 miles from Abingdon, Virginia to Monroe, Louisiana. I touched 6 states - Virginia, Tennessee, Georgia, Alabama, Mississippi and Louisiana on I-81 to Knoxville, I-75 to Chattanooga, I-59 to Birmingham and I-20 to Monroe.
I got stopped in Mississippi which was a surprise to me as I've been really careful with my speed. He stopped me because the frame around my license plate is covering the state name. He gave me a fix-it ticket in case I got stopped again for the same 'offense'! It took 25 minutes to write the ticket as we talked about everything from 'how did I like my truck' to 'how did he like his Charger (cruiser) since I owned a Charger briefly (he showed me all the widgits in his car!) to what are the benefits of SSDs (he asked me where I worked!). He also told me NOT to stay in Jackson if I wanted to keep my truck, hence I drove on to Monroe! Nice guy.
