So its Friday and we move on to Williamsburg tomorrow.
The Great Smoky National Park was great but Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge were disappointing. Both towns were like giant fun-zones, the single main streets were lined with arcades, rides etc. We were hoping that Gatlinburg would be a quaint little town but no such luck.
However the Great Smoky National Park was great. We toured around for a few days, saw waterfalls, historical sites and the trees had some colors although we were a little early for all the fall colors.
We also rode the cable car up into the mountains, I guess this a big ski resort in Winter. Once you get off the cable car, there is a ski lift to the top!
Friday we actually went to Dollywood. Unfortunately neither of us felt like riding the 3 big roller-coaster but we did go on a water ride (similar to Bigfoot Rapids at Knott's) just before going home! Pat was in the wrong place at the wrong time for all the large splashes!!
We saw a couple of shows which were very professional and very good. The park is in the foothills so the backdrop is pretty spectacular.
We survived our studio unit for the week but we are both looking forward to our 1 bedroom in WIlliamsburg.
